Abstract

In this article, we explore animal diplomacy as an implement in international relations, specifically from the perspective of pandas and axolotls. Through the strategic diplomacy of China, shows how it is possible for animals to strengthen diplomatic bonds and project a positive image of the country. On the other hand, the axolotl, a symbol of Mexican culture, is a reflection of the potential and challenges facing Mexican foreign policy, especially on preservation issues.

Also, in this article we address the ethical and political implications of using animals in danger of extinction as a diplomatic tool. In the context of an environmental crisis, the government bears the responsibility to protect these species and their habitats. Finally, we invite you to reflect upon the current balance between using animals as a national symbol and its preservation, underlining the need for a more ethical and sustainable view inside this practice.
