Introduction to the development of intercultural studies in China: two different perspectives from intercultural communication

Abstract

The development of Cross-cultural studies in China has almost 40 years of history, these have been influenced by different investigations from the West. Since then different disciplines have been introduced, from the form of discourse to the connotation of theory. The best known are intercultural communication based on foreign language studies and intercultural communication based on communication studies. Through a documentary review, this article analyzes the characteristics of intercultural studies and the causes of these two different disciplines, presenting the current situation and its development in China. Also analyzing a case study: the National Academy of Chinese Theater Arts.
